okay okay - Yeay! has a history, & these early bands were definitely a part
of it. A thing that started in 5th grade with my friend Doug banging on plastic
buckets and twanging an acoustic guitar (with paperclips in the strings to make
distortion) was unfortunately called Ground Zero. we recorded with a crappy
tape recorder, singing parody songs akin to weird AL, obsessed with Bloom County's
Bill the Cat, listening to the Cramps, discovering thrash metal screamed about
all of the hair metal bands of the day and attempting to look like the characture
of punk freak of the 80's. Pittsfield was hardly a cosmopolitan place where
we could hardly find anyone who had even considered
