the sci-fi occult punk phenomenon that is now the Beat Machine has its roots deeply intertwined with the Yeay! Cassettes history. It is the chief solo project of Mugy, the flamboyant frontman for such early absurd Yeay! bands as Lampstand & Immature Morons. Throughout his invlovment with those groups, he maintained his own experiments in recording, searched for UFOs, built crude pyramids out of cardboard, soldered together many electronic contraptions, & released many solo tapes on Yeay! under ever shifting monikers before settling down as the Beat Machine & starting his own imprint Rubix Bomb.
All of these early titles are currently out of print in their original form, but there is interest in assembling an early retrospective of these fine pre-Beat Machine works.
